Tim Keller sermons via Gospel in Life: Happiness is not determined by external circumstances, but by the way we view, process and address them. Contrary to simple, reductionist views of psychology, the Book of Proverbs presents the inner-life in its complex, multidimensional aspects, offering the means of acquiring the inner health needed to face the challenges of life.

This sermon was preached by Rev. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on December 5, 2004.

Ten times deeper than any TED talk on depression. By far the best talk on depression I've ever heard!!!

Jesus healed from my chronic depression! I know my broken spirit came from my immorality. But before that I tried to check my thyroid levels, testosterone levels, read tons of philosophy and psychology books. Got to see people who were truly suffering from mental and physical imbalances. I knew that wasn’t me. So I don’t disregard when physical things are the cause. But Christ healed me and I give testimony to that!

It is hard to believe this sermon is coming up on 20 years old yet it is just as relevant today as it was it in 2004, and it will be just as relevant into the future.

Wow. God brought me to this message while I have a crushed spirit. I have listened to it 4 times so far and will continue to listen to it until it sinks into the depths of me. I have read the Bible for yeas and had no idea that it addresses these topics. Thank you, Tim Keller for opening the WORD in front of me.

I just found out about Tim Keller not 2 months ago and now he's gone. I wanted to hear a message from him as he passed away yesterday. This one is so close to what I'm going through right now. And the message Your Plan/God's Plan. Blessings to his family and to all who hear his sermons.

Pr 12:25 - An anxious heart weighs a man down, but a kind word cheers him up.
Pr 13:12 - Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.
Pr 14:10 - Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one else can share its joy.
Pr 14:13 - Even in laughter the heart is sad, and the end of joy is grief.
Pr 14:30 - A tranquil mind gives life to the flesh, but passion makes the bones rot.
Pr 15:4 - The tongue that brings healing is a tree of life, but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.
Pr 15:13 - A happy heart makes the face cheerful, but heartache crushes the spirit.
Pr 15:14 - The discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.
Pr 16:2 - All a man's ways seem innocent to him, but motives are weighed by the LORD.
Pr 18:14 - A man's spirit sustains him in sickness, but a crushed spirit who can bear?
Pr 28:1 - The wicked man flees though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.

I miss Tim's sermons. I think it is just my heart knowing that he is not here anymore because I never saw him personally. Only met him through videos or books. I live in the Netherlands. I wonder how Kathy is. She must miss him so much. Strength to her..❤

This is a great message. I believe Tim Keller’s preaching has done more good for my spiritual life that any other resource outside of the Bible itself.

I really appreciate how he looks at the nuances and complexities of life, a biblical passage, etc.

Before I build up the man TOO MUCH, I’ll say I’m thankful to God for the way He’s gifted Tim.

31:45 … “in all of the music that you go to, to kind of give yourself a high. You’re actually looking for a song that you remember, but you never heard.” The whole passage on the tree of life resonates so much for me. With these words… As a music collector/for most of my adult life, with well over 10 thousand records that have passed through my hands (and still have or have traded on), this touches on the spiritual side of why I track music…. I’ve known that music will never fill that void in my life but I’ve sometimes almost feel cursed to keep on looking. May I find the joy beyond the walls of the world.. in Him. Such an amazing sermon, I too have been afflicted with a wounded spirit and continue seeking a new life. Thank you, TK..
