Looking forward to this series. I subscribed to you because we both have the '99 Acura 3.5RL, so that Pilot's seat heater switches looked very familiar.

I have a 2004 with 284k on it. Just done the timing belt and tensioner/water pump & fluids done. Is in great shape for a good few more miles. Such a great car.

I bought my 05 Pilot in 2019 with 133k miles for $4500, thinking it was a great deal. I didn't know it was in really bad shape (the transmission was failing and I didn't know it because I didn't know how to truly check out cars before buying and I'd never seen a transmission problem before, and so 2 months to the day after I bought it the transmission shit the bed - while driving, fun!), and it's just gone downhill from there. The new transmission started failing right at the end of the 3-yr warranty but the garage who did the work wouldn't stand by it, I've had a flashing CEL for 6 months now that 3 diff mechanics either couldn't figure out how (or refused, on the basis that it would cost more than just buying another used car) to resolve even when the CEL was merely lit for a year before that, it gets 8mpg, occasionally does this thing where it will randomly buck like a bull machine regardless of what speed I am going (and I never go above 45-50 anymore after it started doing that last May while I was going 85, that was terrifying) has had a coolant leak, has some sort of issue where most left turns produce a horrible clang-thunk from the back left tire, and if I leave it running in park for more than 15 seconds you can smell the gas fumes inside and out bc the exhaust leak is so bad. The car sounds like a lawn mower or something, lol. I don't have any money for another car so I've just been riding this nightmare out for as long as it stays in one piece, or until it bursts into flames. I wish I'd had videos like this to watch before I bought my car, but now I am going to make sure I'm prepared for my next car (hoping for either a 4runner, or another Pilot, but one of the better ones like an 08 or 10). My biggest hurdle will be finding something that isn't already rusted beyond hope from these New England winters, I might have to learn how to shop long distance in a more Southern region 🤞🤞
Sorry for that run-on sentence

You got yourself a new subscriber looking forward on watching your videos. Got the same one for 4, 500. The one I got the A/C works but for the back A/C I don’t know how to turn it on.

I just bought an 03 Pilot two weeks ago. 127k miles on it. All the major stuff...timing belt, transmission, etc...had already been done recently. My mechanic checked it from stem to stern. The interior looks like a new car. That was a plus! I've never owned a Honda nor an SUV before, so I'm loving it. Mine is also black. So here's a question for you: What do you recommend for polishing it? Thanks.

I'm seeing this weird oil leak throughout my transmission and possibly in the oil pan - at the front of the vehicle and I dont know what it could be and I don't know how to diagnose it either. I'm really hoping it's not an issue with transmission. Timing belt + water pump, power steering pump + flush and transmission fluid change, and front struts all replaced.
