Religion CAN BE dangerous, because it is being used for dangerous activity regardless of improper use. How can the peaceful and harmonic truth of religion shine through the chaos,  if bystanders are forced to wonder at how religions are even allowed (by god) to become such states? And in cases where it is interpreted improper or radical it is no less obvious that such extreme neurosis is in a way PASSIONATELY fuelled by aspects of religious doctrine and practice. Its not a discussion of cause-and-effect that can clear up this issue of reality. It is that some religious people are indeed killing in the name of their god, past present future, and that religion has great social potential to distribute and generate violent messages and have constantly proven to do so.

Keith ward is one of my favourite philosophers. I cannot recommend his books enough! Interestingly (he's a Christian) he says he does view Muhammad as a Prophet
