Live: Boris Johnson unveils 'New Deal' style UK infrastructure plan

Boris Johnson’s so-called New Deal economic recovery plan has been called “hopelessly inadequate” ahead of its launch after spending figures released yesterday were found to be lacking.

The prime minister announced a £5bn infrastructure spending boost for hospital maintenance, high street rescues and road upgrades but critics warned the plans failed to address the need for action on climate change or the extent of the economic crisis brought on by Covid-19.

Couldn’t be more embarrassing as a public speaker if he pierced his foot on a spike beforehand and then punctuated his speech by vomiting uncontrollably behind his podium.

Open the courts, open hotels, gyms, cinemas, all businesses. There are no dangers, and he knows it.

Johnson is talking of a 'massive' five billion pounds to rebuild Britain. That's enough to build just three miles of motorway. Germany invests 4% of GDP. We'd be investing just 0.2% of GDP...
'BUILD BUILD BUILD'? BILGE BILGE BILGE!

Report from UK Parliament and their Department For International Development (DFID)
THE GATES FOUNDATION
59. The Department says its most significant engagement is with the Gates Foundation, with whom it has collaborated over the last ten years on a wide range of projects and programmes, especially those in the health, agriculture, financial services and sanitation sectors. The DFID-Gates relationship has involved working together on global advocacy for international development issues, such as partnering with the UK's G8 Presidency on Africa in 2005, and launching a new push for Polio Eradication with the UK Prime Minister in January 2011.

Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI) Multi-donor fund. UK Government, followed by the Gates Foundation, were the largest contributors to the June 2011 replenishment

The Gates Foundation told us, "We have a good relationship with DFID". They emphasised the frequent contact between the two agencies, with Jeff Raikes calling it "a regular relationship, with regular interaction. Many of our staff will be in contact as regularly as weekly."[117] The Foundation told us that it and DFID had now "identified contact points to co-ordinate the relationships between our organisations".[118]

SMALLER FOUNDATIONS
65. Gates' experience of regular contact with DFID was not shared by smaller, UK-based foundations. The Baring Foundation said DFID "has tended to concentrate on relationships with the largest funders such as the Gates Foundation, the Wellcome Trust and Comic Relief".[119] The Children's Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), whilst in many ways highly complimentary about DFID as an organisation, [120] highlighted a problem raised by a number of other foundations: the availability of DFID staff time to engage with them.

Why doesn’t the government have a period of national mourning for the thousands and thousands of people who lost their lives to this deadly pandemic? Eg BUILD BUILD BUILD a huge memorial with a list of all the people who have sadly lost their lives according to the government? How about a medal ceremony to the NHS staff? Make a big day of it and invite all the bereaved families as a mark of respect to the human tragedy that has unfolded. It’s the least the nation could do isn’t it? How about it to all you sincere politicians who care so much??

#Tesla Giga Factory in somerset coming soon, but what about us in the North?... always being left out or our local councils spend the money on something different.
Forget the antiquated highspeed train and build a British version of the Vegas #Hyperloop transport system, ... take us into the future or stepdown!
P.S and don't sell us out to China in any way.

Disclaimer - it is very hard to run a country (this badly)

To sum up some salient points:

Double down on levelling up.
We won’t attack or impede, we won’t tear people down nor statues..
we will build people up...

Another slogan

1B for 50 schools

The end to the unjust waste of human talent in London (okay before, as long as you could afford a London Uni degree in London, with mum and dad’s money)

New Broadband!
You name it, the list is bollocks and no matter your gender, you can feel these last ones growing as he speaks.
