I just got a Lenovo legion go and it plays VR pretty well! My favorite game to play on it right now is underdogs.

I use the second most powerful Asus Rog Ally to play Half Life Alyx on low settings and it plays really will.

What im interested in is installing steam os on those more powerfull handhelds for a more optimized operating systems like steamos
(Windows isnt ideal on handhelds tbh)
Then ALVR with the USB mode mod.
Then just a 3D printed clip to put it on your back pocket

I have tried this with my original Ally. I was surprised to get a few lighter/older SteamVR games working. Basically, if it's a game that also has a Quest version, you can probably get it working on the Ally considering the Z1 Xtreme is a bit more powerful than the XR2 chips. That said, it's more of a novelty and I still use my main rig with the RTX 3080 for PCVR.

I can't figure out why you're only getting 286Mbps on your WiFi connection. You should be getting 2400Mbps.

In about 2 generations of ROG ally + PSVR2 + foveated rendering, most things should run well.

This is where PCVR gaming is going to a more mobile/standalone platform without it be a dedicated standalone V.R. headset.

A powerful mobile V.R. PC with a small powerful backpack PC and battery, with mobile WiFi ? .... Or have SIM capability like a cellphone and can make phone calls from your V.R. headset.

All neatly packaged and designed in a lightweight backpack.

With the hand-held mobile gaming consoles/MINI-HANDHELD MOBILE PC'swe no longer see those $ 3, 000 ZOTAC type of bulky backpack gaming PC's.

Those types of bulky ZOTAC types of $ 3, 000 Mobile backpack PC's came out about 8 or so years ago, but these new handheld gaming consoles will revolutionalise the mobile PCVR gaming.

My old hp omen 15 laptop that cost me $1300 with GTX 1080 8gb cant even load up half life anyx. The fact this thing is 1/2 cost and plays it is mind blowing. Technology continues to surprise me.

You’re never gonna see this but I’m wondering if you did another run where you didn’t record on the quest cause decoding latency seems to be adding a lot more than it should.
