I am an 12 handicap and these are my gamers. I regripped them right out of the box to match my mids on all of my irons. I can't speak to the grips, but they play great. Commit, don't decelerate, and keep your head down😁. Great value for this level of performance.

I just bought them today. They're finally making lefty sets. Had them regripped and gonna play my first round tomorrow. Due to inexperience, my previous wedges were 12 degrees of bounce and I kept skulling the ball. These are 10 degrees on the 52 and 56 and 8 for the 60. They have nice weight to them like you can just do the club do the work. I'll follow up

I’ve been interested in these clubs as I am a rubbish golfer and was hoping to improve. This is one of the best reviews I have watched, thanks. I am going to spend the money on the best game improver instead………lessons.

Had the pleasure of meeting GGR at the driving range and he was very welcoming and an all round nice guy.
He even let me make a fool of myself with the bendy 7 iron for tempo which I happily sliced!
Overall very approachable and I wish you good luck with the channel.

What make a club “forgiving” is the how the distribution of mass in the club head reacts to the momentum of the swing arc. What Karsten Solheim (founder of PING) discovered back in the late 1950s - early 1960s when he took up the game and started tinkering with clubs in his garage is that the ideal balance of mass heel-to-toe will AUTOMATICALLY keep the face of the club square with the swing arc very much how today’s cars drive themselves by keeping the wheels between the markings on the road. By comparison the traditional blade irons are more toe heavy and will tend to twist the face open when swung back and shut on the way down through impact unless the grip the golfer has on the club prevents it. But in the hands of an advanced golfer it is that sensation of the club TRYING to twist in the hand during the swing which provides situational awareness of how the face is oriented at all times and whether or not the club mass is swinging on the ideal planned path or deviating from it, most commonly due to a loss of balance on an other than level lie.

Are the higher MOI cavity back clubs really game improving? My experience over 40 years of playing with various styles is no they are not. They will improve scores by masking and minimizing swing flaws much like putting a bandage over a bullet wound without removing the bullet. So I wouldn’t let the fact the Kirkland wedges are the traditional blade design discourage a high-handicap golfer from using them if their goal is to lower the handicap by actually improving their swing. The “feel” factor is especially important with wedges because they are more likely than other irons to be used for partial swing shots in which situational awareness of face angle through impact is a key to success.

Been using the Kirkland wedges since last year they do the job for me also (average golfer) the only thing I done was changed the grips to the golf pride align

Great review, completely agree with you here. I've had these for about 8 months and have just gone back to my Vokey SM6's in the 52 & 56. Reason, the bounce can be brutal in the kirklands leading to a lot of leading edge dig. I'm by no means a good golfer (14 handicap) but I feel I the vokeys perform much better in the majority of situations. I've kept the kirkland 60 in my bag as it really suits me out of bunkers.

The Kirkland 60 deg wedge can really stop the ball. However it requires a longer back swing from me, or I end up very short of target, compared to my Callaway wedges. I am a 36.6 GHIN and can get some shocking results with the Kirkland 60 degree wedge: Eyepopping spectacular pitch shots to demoralize my opponents; or, awful screamers over the green (to the amusement of my opponents).

I'm a 6 handicap and game these wedges. Your review is so accurate. Get better grips. Also, have the lofts checked, mine were wonky and wasn't getting the yardage gaps you'd expect. Quick, easy fix. Love the spin, as good as anything out there. Even with new grips and loft check, they are cheaper as a set than purchasing a set of vokeys, etc.

Correction on my last comment. I watched a video mentioning that the grips were too small. I pulled the stock grips and went with Golf Pride CPX grips. Made all the difference.

Great comments about "game improvement wedges".
I don't need "Vokey" looking wedges...I personally need game improvement wedges.
Thanks!

Cheers that makes perfect sense will stick with my stock wedges for now

Great video Kev! Given the price it would be great to do a comparison with the Wilson Harmonized Wedges that are out there as a named brand entry level wedge vs Kirkland

do you know when the v2 wedges are coming to the UK?

actually a really valid point. 98% of golfers still couldn't control an increase in spin anyways.
