Yes, they're def beautiful, but my XT (I use 165mm cranks) are way cheaper and on par for weight if a full alloy chainring is used ( i doubt my XT chainring will wear out any time soon for me to get one though.) But thanks for showing us something different from the usual fare.

5DEV cranks are just wonderful jewelery for bikes.. Drool worthy and durable. Just priced more than I am willing to spend is the only down side I can even think of.

Wanted the 5Dev raw cranks the moment I saw them. Reminded me of all of the custom cranks that were available in the 90's but better made. I can't afford them and would rather spend the money on some carbon hoops/onyx hubs but definitely in the want category and just can't justify the price.

What about the weight including the spindle? Most cranks have the spindle attached to at least one crank arm.

Great Video, Last year I bought a pair of the black 5Dev cranks (165mm) A smaller chain ring (two teeth smaller) to offset the shorter cranks in order to maintain similar power output in the same gear, (previous cranks 170mm) and some one up aluminum pedals, so I didn’t have to adjust my saddle 5mm higher. The pedals being close to 5mm thinner then the DMR vaults. Unfortunately I didn’t get around to installing the new parts until the winter season so I can’t comment if I notice any difference. Finally thanks for taking the time sharing your knowledge and experience with new products. Almost forgot I was also a little concerned with stack height of the bars so hopefully with the changes I made I will notice no difference as that was my goal when I went down the rabbit hole of shorter cranks.

I've had these on my bike for about a year. No issues. A bit of frame protection sticker on the tip to protect from slight rock strikes. Mine didn't come with the chain ring bolts.

Another awesome and YT leading best review! I like the cranks but won't buy them for one reason, they won't work with my Feedback Sports Scorpion stand. That may sound silly, but that stand has been a game changer for me.... Love the no spindle weight part too!!

160mm I have the same on my stumpjumper your voice works 160mm on the small size bike as opposed to 170 mm that specialized put on it the look is perfect, but my hips are really happy
