They have a sulphur-ish taste like a hardboiled egg, maybe its the turmeric? Not my favorite but they aren't bad, I just taste egg for some reason lol

You are most definitely correct it has a off taste about them. You actually gave them a high ranking, I'm trying not to throw them away after eating about 5 of them. Somebody said try them with some Sour cream and Onion dip.

Smells like rotten egg farts, and tastes just as bad. This is the first (and only) bag of Lay's I've ever thrown in the garbage. Thankfully I only paid $2 for these.

1) The seasoning is hing (it is definitely an acquired taste, and I do urge you to try more indian stuff)
2) This is an internationlized version of the Indian "Magic Masala" flavor
3) Masala is a blanket term for many many spices, there is no one "masala" flavor.

But yeah, I need to try these side by side by the actual Magic Masala flavor.

I saw this one on the shelf today. I didn't pick it up because I didn't care too much for the Tikka Masala flavor from a couple of years back. I felt the flavor on that was too rich. I like the more subtle flavors.
I may pick up this one some time. This off flavor that you are talking has me curious.

So far may favorite flavor has been the BLT. It's got my two favorite chip ingredients: Bacon and Tomato powder.
