In this video, I talk about the makers behind the knitting supplies that have brought me a little extra joy in my recent projects. Two indie dyers and and a sewist are the focus of this video (the first in an ongoing series) in which I shine a spotlight on the maker's that inspire me in my knitting. Thought knitting doesn't require a lot of supplies, nice materials and notions are always appreciated. If you want to learn about some makers that may be new to you, come sit down with me for a chat!

I absolutely adore Expression Fiber Arts! The owner Chandi has a great understanding of the connection between color and emotion and is a really upbeat and positive person. She goes live every Tuesday on Facebook and responds to every post on her social media accounts, she's very inspiring. And of course, I'm inspired by the knitting superstars Arne and Carlos. They are incredibly charming people who both elevate knitting and keep it down to earth.

The Bearded Purl. Great guys, make so much (garden, spin, sew, knit, etc). Inspire me with their bags and their approach to life.

Hi Caleb, my name is Gabby and I live in Montreal Quebec Canada. I recently discovered a young lady called Nicole from Virginia and her podcast is called NSP Designs. I don’t know her, however she got me hooked right away (just like you). She’s cute, talented, entertaining and very caring regarding our world today. I just love her podcasts and she deserves more subscribers. Thank you 👍

I have never bought from a dyer until today. I just ordered a skien of Lolodidit PYT on her everyday sock base. I can't wait to get it!

I love the sentiment of this video so much. Even though I can sew my own project bags, I often find myself buying from other makers because I want to support peoples’ creative endeavors. Plus it saves me the time and effort of making my own! Something as simple as a pouch or project bag seriously gives me such a spark of joy every time I pick it up, you’re SO right about that. I can’t wait to check out these artists and support them as well!

I am definitely inspired by and in awe of Nina aka Brujerialana!! Her whole feed is so fueled by her love of yarn, fiber crafts, magick and all things Halloween. I absolutely love the skeins I snagged from her last update in the California dreaming colorway, and consider myself so lucky to have been able to get them, they sell out so quick! It brings me joy too how she makes her yarn accessible for lower income knitters and crocheters, thank you for showing her beautiful yarn, it needs and so deserves to be shared with the fiber world! 💛💛💛

I really loved watching this. Your thoughtful reviews as well as you being so knowledgeable and generous with the info behind each item made me really want to support these makers. Jake and Erika are personal friends of mine and this video reminded me why I just love them so much. Keep this up. New sub over here 🙋🏽‍♀️

I love finding new makers to check out! Someone I really love is Caleisha of the Quirky Monday Craftcast. She primarily knits and crochets, but she has also done some weaving, macramé, block printing, and so much more creativeness. I always love seeing what she is up to, and her smile and creativeness are very contagious!

Hi, Caleb! I’m really enjoying your podcasts....thank you for sharing your your joy and passion for knitting. You come across as such a genuine person sharing your authentic self. That’s so delightful — thank you! I, too, love to knit and find it a great distraction from these anxiety producing times. While I am a fairly experienced knitter I have never made socks and I REALLY want to. Socks are on my knitting bucket list. Please help me with this: point me in the direction of your best suggestion for where I such start to learn. There is SO much info out there that it’s almost what do you suggest?

I see you use double points....that’s how I’d like to do it, too (vs. magic loop which I do on occasion so I know how but the dbl. pts. seem more “authentic” to sock knitting. I know that’s a silly statement but I visualize knitting cool socks on dbl pts!) Thank in advance for your thoughts. Peace. Wishing you continued success with your channel.
