Currently govt holds 100% shares of LIC, govt won't sell more than 49% of the total share. So LIC will become public sector company like ONGC and other PSU.

All those people expressing disappointment after being selected for LIC, you guys are missing the point: you will get ESOPs (employee stock options scheme). You will get LIC shares as per your designation, which you can sell in the future (see how Flipkart employees struck gold when Walmart acquired it)

Even if you join any bank it doesn't make you superior bcz thousands of guys joining various banks without thinking whether they are private or Govt bcz they know service is not going anywhere.LIC is a big organisation so it will take much time to be purely privatised and newly selected candidates will not lose their job n benefits they are entitled to.
