Nick D'Virgilio present the DW Machined Chain Drive Bass Drum Pedal. Machined from solid aluminum, the DW MCD Machined Chain Drive bass drum pedal offers you the smooth and precise action of a fully adjustable sprocket-less cam, which lets you quickly shift between popular chain-drive cam settings. Features such as a perforated footboard with contoured heel plate, interlocking Delta hinge, and Tri-Pivot Swivel Toe-Clamp give the MCD the feel of a well-tuned race car.

Every time I watch one of these videos I can’t get over what a beast on the drums Nick is.

I got myself the chain drive single pedal and it is nicer and more natural than my 5000 very smooth and precise.

Didn't get why DW hasn't made the option of turning the direct one into a longboard... and also, no lefty version?

@jeroro I had the original MDD Pedals, the footboard started bending before DW sent out the new ones with
the reinforced bar under the bottom

These pedals are wayyyy to expensive for me, so I'll stick to my 5000 double pedals. But I will get those beaters, I like the idea behind them.

I wonder how it compares to my Trick Big Foot which is a direct drive?

is there that big of difference between these and the 9002?

I see you guys have a review for the 5000 and this one, but can't find a 9000 review .. are you guys gonna cover that pedal?

Is there a setting to pull the entire pedal away from the bass drum head that I’m missing? The linkage and bottom of the beaters are rubbing right on my bass head…. My c clamp is mounted on the hoop as it should be and it’s not an abnormally shallow hoop or anything….

The only feature I like about this is the spring tension adjustment. I hate DW's tension adjustment with the hex tube. Tama found a way to have a locking spring that you can still actually adjust without having to take the pedal off the kit.

would love to know the name of the artist and song title in your intro..or was that one of your originals?

Is the footplate longer? I use a dw9000xf. Wouldnt mind switching if it was a long footplate.

I wish they would have made the heel plate so that it curves down to the carpet. I feel it is raised too high and the plate stabbing into my heel. It should slant down towards the carpet.

Would love to try one...but I'm afraid I would like it too much. And that means $$$

Still don't like the raised heel plate. It caused Plantar Fasciitis in my heel. Should have made it slant down to the end of the base plate.

And still no left handed double model.. smh.

i am not rich...so i will stick to my beloved Tama Speed Cobra...instead of debating the pedal features, let's improve the foot techniques (heel-up/ down, heel toe, swivel, floating etc.) Because professional metal drummer like Gene Hoglan still using cheap old Camco single pedal, but able to create a kick-ass melodic beats.

i hope the new footboads don't bend like the original MDD pedals 😧, they're still thin.
