Monster Crown Review - Is it actually good?

I played Monster Crown before and during the holidays and had some thoughts I wanted to share. Definitely an interesting experience, but you'll have to watch to hear my full thoughts ;)

I got it for $10 using my GameStop reward points. Already had to restart from my last save, which was way at the beginning. So yeah that was a thing. Your right about the grinding a bad chore. I hope that they fix the bugs soon. They're not bad, they're noticeable and really bad. Like having to restart the game because the screen goes black out of no where.

I 100% agree with everything you said in this video.
Like, the ideas are great but the bugs and even lack of features are infuriating!
Fo you know how many Rainbow Mons were stuck in places I couldn't reach, just for them to fade into the ether, !? Like 3, but it's still too much!
I have the Switch version and I might have to postpone my playthrough until some major quality of life changes come in.
Considering this is One guy developing this game, those changes might come anytime soon

The bugs ARE crap. The back and forth in the soundtrack between "nes like" and more modern-esq music felt cool to me because of how the art in the game was.

Honestly I like these random indy games its 20 dollars on Amazon I might just buy it for the collection I like having weird things in my switch collection

I've had this game on my wishlist for a while and finally got it through Humble Bundle. I want to like it so bad, it has good parts, but the bugs are really killing it for me. There are so many small quality of life improvements that could have been made as well. The lack of polish killed my excitement. I'm still playing but it's not as fun as it could have been. Honestly, it wouldn't have taken much to fix this game.

$45 here in Australia for xbox for a 1gb game, mental, would deffs pick up for $10-$15 but approx 2-3 hours work for the average person here is a big ask for a glorified gameboy colour game, thanks for the vid!

It's okay..
If it took the inspiration and actually added something new to the genre, I'd respect it.. but it never does at all. There's a lack of creativity and actual innovation that I find distasteful. There's a reason why these haven't broken through.

I came across a bug that won't let me progress in the game.
So now I have to start all over and I just don't feel like going through all that again.
With the chance of encountering it again..
Which is such a shame. This game had potential but the bugs kill it.

This is a game I want to like, but good lord almighty is this game sloppy. I've said that this is the SV of 8-Bit mon-tamers, but after playing for a bit, I'd even go as far as to say it's WORSE than Scarlet and Violet with the bugs.

It’s really sad because I grew up on Pokémon and I don’t think this genre can make a comeback. This game tries to but I just don’t have any desire to play this. Not trying to come off as negative but just saying I feel like being a 90s kid Pokémon was a one hit wonder
