The more money a company makes, the less tax it pays.
The more money people make the more taxes they pay.

can you explain that?

As a wage slave earner for the last 37 years this realization finally kicked in about 2 years ago, that the more i work the more i get taxed. Working fulltime+ hours is just not worth it to me anymore. I'm done with this hussle culture mentality. My time is valuable and limited.

Don't get hung on the procentages I mention in the video.
The tax system is complicated, and the rate varies a lot depending on where you are in the world.
Try to see the point of the video. We pay a lot more taxes than we think.

I forgot mention one important thing in the video.
The more money you make, the more the tax procentage increases. Which quickly puts you over the 50% line.

Taxed on what we earn, taxed on what we buy, taxed on what we have in the bank etc... I dont object to paying tax for services and the things the society I benefit from needs, but yeah, way too much tax is paid by most folks.

67& of my money went to taxes in 2023. Adding property tax, sales taxes, gas taxes, federal income taxes, and FICA tax equals to 67% of my gross income. And I've never received a single benefit from the government in my almost 40 years of life. I loath paying taxes for social safety nets.

Capitalism is about wealth-extraction. It's not about free markets or individual rights, despite what people tell you. It's a system which informally makes a ruling class out of people who own more stuff than you. That's it. It's in the name. If you have capital, you're the ruling class. The more of it you have, the more you become indistinguishable from a prince or an emperor.

Investment is functionally a process which gives you money for having money. And after a certain threshold, this snowballs on itself until you have basically unlimited social power. When you can't invest in stocks or businesses anymore, you invest in lobbying because that serves your rational self-interest under the system. Pretty much any other characterization of capitalism is pure cope.

I've got no problem with tax funded safety nets, but I cant stand when politicians use taxes as a hand out to private companies. If we pay for social benefits, they should stay social and accessible by everyone.

The question is; how are our taxes spent?

Taxes on pensions is daylight robbery. Here in the UK we get tax relief on the first X percent that goes into pensions, but that's only so they can take it back when we retire and draw it out again. I am running an ISA along side a pension so at least I can hang on to some of it without being robbed again at 70. :(

The property tax rates here in Los Angeles county are awful... And I'd honestly be ok with them if I knew our dollars were going to a good place (clean streets, education, quality city officials, etc) but a new report came out that the mayor can't account for 20 billion dollars that was meant to help the homelessness problem. The irony would be comical if it wasn't devastating... And that's just one very specific incident regarding our poorly operated tax system but it sadly seems quite common across the globe.

I'm here for a new vlog channel!

So I was indeed very close 😁

Here’s my guide to maximising your take home in the UK

* work less, keep more. They cannot tax time, or money you don’t earn. So stay in the band where you are taxed less to begin with, as the marginal rate of tax is progressive

* salary sacrifice into your retirement fund (pension). This is straight out of your gross income, so you get the full untaxed amount. Yes, you will pay partially on withdrawals in retirement, but depending on how much you take, it will likely be way less than what you saved in tax on the way in.

* don’t consume - and try and buy things second hand.

* fix things yourself, and try and barter your skills in a community centric way. Barter is actually taxable, but it is almost impossible to actually be taxed in practice.

HA ha ha ha . The look on your face when you said " Is fine " about that new job . What I get is " I'm not fine " :-) Please, do the vlog! I like your self, enjoy the row videos. They allow me to relate to the person on the other end more. They takes the illusion of perfection alway, just like complicated taxes do for the tax payer .

Yes, taxes are obfuscated so normal people don’t fully realize how much they are paying. And, I am a normal person 😔 and I too enjoy unscripted, Uhm, videos and look forward to the second channel 🎉

When these companies ask if you’d like to make a donation. They are using your money to make a donate and they’ll use it as a tax write off. That way they don’t have to donate their own money.

We are the consumers. We will always pay those taxes. If those companies stop doing what they do they'll just forward us the cost anyways, and we'll pay the same, if not more. The real problem isn't with tax paying or avoidance. The problem is corruption from within the government, which doesn't really exist to serve us, but control us. The services we get are just a pacifier. Not saying there's a better alternative. We're bad, our institutions mirror our nature. There's no way around it.

The tax code is complex on purpose. Sleaze and corruption is much easier to put through when the rules are so complex they are indecipherable. We live in a joke of a society.

I think the biggest scam in working for someone else is that you exchange your time for a paycheck. Every employee that spends years, sometimes decades working for somebody else and dedicating their time deserves some form of equity in return. You simply cannot build wealth from just paychecks..

There was a point where the effective marginal tax rate on my income in the Uk, based on family circumstances was 116%. Yes you read that right - for every £1 more I earned in that tax bracket - my family were *worse off* by £0.16!

The system is full of traps. So whilst I would rather Apple and Google etc paid some sort of taxes, if they don’t, I don’t see why I can’t as you say use very legal measure to avoid tax either.

It’s worth mentioning the fines those corporations pay are usually less than the profits they made on doing the dodginess. Let’s face it - if you get fined £100 for making £1000 in the clear, you would do it. It’s rational 😉
