Iconic landmarks around the world switched off their lights for an hour on Saturday night to mark Earth Hour, a campaign to raise environmental awareness.
France's Eiffel Tower, Australia's iconic Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, Japan's Tokyo Tower, Barcelona's Sagrada Familia cathedral and Rome's Colosseum were among the landmarks that went dark.
Earth Hour is organised each year by the World Wide Fund for Nature. It began in 2007 with a lights out event in Sydney, Australia.
