Solution to RDP on MacOS error code 0x204 (other devices work flawlessly)

I want to share with you how I resolve error code 0x204 on Microsoft Remote Desktop on MacOS, while other devices can connect to my remote window 11 machine without error, so definitely not a bad configuration on the Remote machine itself but something was wrong on my Macbook. Only my Macbook running MacOS Ventura cannot make the connection, it always gives the same error 0x204:

"We couldn't connect to the remote PC. Make sure the PC is turned on and connected to the network, and that remote access is enabled.
Error code: 0x204"

Solution: You need to move the VPN connection to top of the list as shown in my video.

i have this issue but I did not use a VPN to connect to my RDP, in fact I set it up to only work with my IP address. Do you know what I can do in this case?

Good and clear description. It doesn't work if you use SonicWall or Check Point sofware's End Point VPN applications as they do not appear in the VPN section of the System preferences.

Hi, this is very useful indeed but I have a small problem, when I click on set service order, I only see wifi, iPhone USB and thunderbolt bridge even though I have VPN set up already. Any idea what can I do in this case?
