Jake Pfeifer is among the next generation of aspiring American glass artists. His blown glass embodies traditional Italian and Swedish techniques with youthful, contemporary imagination.

In this video, Jake expresses how he “loves glass” as he describes his one-of-a-kind creations and a few illustrative production pieces for the exhibition, “Techniques and Traditions” at Studio 7 Fine Art Gallery in Bernardsville, NJ. During the exhibition, Jake responds to many of the visitors in the gallery imparting some of the influences and the rich background of each piece. For instance, his unique, wonderfully colored baskets were inspired by his family’s collection of native American baskets. And he enthusiastically describes to visitors the sophisticated Italian techniques he employs now and is still perfecting. One visitor was so impressed, he gushed, “I will come to your next show!”

Jake Pfeifer has had a successful career over the past 12 years, enabling him to start his own hot glass shop, Hot Glass Alley.
