Let's call a duck a duck first. It's not an act of democracy.

Sounds like the president is trying to stage a coup d'etat.

The military preventing the members of parliament from voting does not sound like "a tough predicament" to me, it sounds like a military coup.

The S. Koreans just showed me world how democracy is supposed to work when a government violates the will of the people. They marched peacefully and the Assembly restored order. We could all learn a lot from their example.

Interference through the political process is NOT grounds for martial law. Him saying he's protecting their constitution is ridiculous since he is trying to prevent their governmental process from working the way it is supposed to. Unless there is something more to this story, he needs to be removed from office.

SK’s leader declares Martial law. Now NK’s dear leader will declare democracy.

This dude is trying to justify marital law, as if it should be business as usual when the head of state becomes unpopular.

A "human rights organization" saying that martial law may be justified. "I know, it's strange" You bet.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely, indeed. In South Korea, this martial law will be a tempest in a tea cup.

I’m very suprised the parliament doesn’t immediately start impeachment

Fast crisis. The President has announced he will lift martial law. Methinks he's going to prison.

Catchy title lol but there is no chaos in Korea. In fact no-one pays attention to him anymore the people just go about their day.

Yoon is desperate. Look at the fate of his predecessors. He’s either going to jail or would have t off himself. Plus, he was the top prosecutor. Imagine the hypocrisy, the shame! He probably deserves it, but Korea certainly does not deserve this nonsense.

Martial law has been declared 16 times in South Korea since June of 1953 according to my source.

Hating proper checks and balances is the sign of an autocrat.

He has given a concrete reason to recall him or vote no confidence.

(Update: the president has rescinded the order . )

The guy you had on to interview almost sounded like he was in favor of the martial law move….

Insane if true.
