"Zero waste isnt always plastic free" is so true and so encouraging. And also inspires so much recycling! Some people need to use plastic bc of medicines or routines or jobs and it gets real easy to just fall right back into old habits when you cant drop the plastic completely. Some people cant always afford the more environmentally friendly options, among other reasons. Or like working certain jobs like cosmo and healthcare that requires you to buy a few things that feel so wasteful, like lots of makeup or rubber gloves or hand sanitizers you can fit on your person or first aide items. Or like how your best water option is the jugs and thats the same where i live bc the tap water actually isnt good at all lol (super hard and has flakes in it???) its just. Very encouraging and inspiring and i really really appreciate it in a logical perspective because some things are made to be disposed, like needles and pill crush bags. And i LOVE recycling and doing crafts with lipstick tubes, pallets, gloves that make their way home with me always get used, i use number 6 plastic to make charms(shrinkie-dinks) cans are fun to work with, plastic bags that find their way here despite having reusable bags, they get used til they cant get used anymore, and since I don't buy shower caps, they also make good shower caps lol i know its a bit cheap but its giving something more wear and tear so it hopefully breaks down 100 years early 😅 heres to living 0 waste one day as well when i get my own place!!!

I’m only 20, just getting out of college this coming May. I’ve made small switches like watching more plant based or low packaged items, bringing my own food containers places, and switching out my oral care routine for a sustainable one. I’m not dating someone who also believes in sustainability and we’re looking to get a place together after college. I can’t wait to make sustainable switches right from the get go, live in a walkable city, and transition to a gluten free dairy free diet for my partner as I open up this next chapter

My mom always brings home surgical rags that they can't use again and they come in handy we have soooo many of them they really come in handy. And they are super durable.
Side note. I appreciate how you encourage us to use up our products rather than going out and immediately buying new eco friendly stuff.

Good alternative if you just want to start sooner rather than later is to sell it on Fb or nextdoor. Someone is bound to buy it, that way you can use the $$ for your eco restock

In my home we use our old clothes that we don't need anymore to make dish towels and stuff
Idk if it's sustainable but in the process we've never bought any dish towel

When I was a kid, I thought that my mom use the old shirt because we poor. I found out that we just cheap arse 😅

Plastic isn’t wasteful if you’re using it constantly. What’s wasteful is throwing away a perfectly good product that happens to be plastic just to replace it with something else that does the same thing with a different material
