Back in those days the radio was worth listening to. Not so much anymore. At least in my area

How I wish the 70s world return. The music was magic and every sound puts you in a place, with someone or doing something. It was a time when vocalists sang in melody and perfect harmony, when instumentalists played with their hearts, song writers composed through the soul and producers and arrangers were masters of their trade. They left us a legacy never to be repeated, only copied, immitated or versioned. The third rate music makers of today's generation have much to learn.

Easily one of the top years for music . What a great time to grow up.

What a time machine! I graduated from high school in 1971. Met my high school sweetheart in my senior year. We eventually got married (1975). We're still happily married today with two sons and four grandchildren. Thanks for posting!

I spun many of those at the skating rink back in the day.
I was DJ for almost 3 years there, place is empty now all grown up with weeds...sad.
Still love 3 Dog Night, lots of decent memories hearing these, even 52 years later

My sweet lord by George Harrison- one of the most underrated and beautiful songs in history: love that one so much. Could listen to it everyday

One of the many gifts my mother gave me was the appreciation of music. At the age of 7 she put a transistor radio, {mono-am only} under my pillow and I listened till I fell asleep. I’m blessed to love all kinds of music. Thank you mom. RIP

The Carpenters had an amazing Trifecta in 1971, For all we know, Rainy days and Mondays and Superstar. I was 8-9 years old in '71 and this brought great memories!

Yes the 70s were the summers seemed to last forever if there were a way to get stuck in time this is where I want to be no Covid everyone I knew was still alive no road raging you can take a drive on Sunday and actually enjoy it instead of worrying about some idiot cutting you off in a hurry to go no where like my father use to say if you are in that much of a hurry leave 15 minutes early.
I want to go back to 70s the golden good old days.

Gordon Lightfoot was the greatest songwriter of that genre. I loved these songs man oh man . Karen Carpenter was so beautiful and such a great singer.

Possibly the best year for pop music. Among other things, all 4 Beatles had a solo hit in the top 100.
