Mix bus compressor plugin review of Analog Obsession Buster Se and Waves SSL G Bus Master Compression VST. Which is better? Let's find out.

There are lots of features and settings within each of these master bus compressor plugins that can be engaged and tweaked , but I opted to test like-for-like settings, just to be fair to both compressors.

I'm usually skeptical of free plugins, because I worry about less work put into making them. In the end, the ears tell the story. My ears are hearing an AMAZING sound from the Buster SE, while the Waves SSL sounds a little bit stale. Thanks for the video! I think I may have found my new mix buss compressor.

I’m stunned how good the BUSTERse sounds. It even opens it a bit. More definition of the individual instruments, while the Waves sounds a bit squashed.

Waves only JUST put sidechaining on theirs.

Of course, you have to pay extra for the update.

I'm starting to replace all of my Wave's plugins one at time. Sonically they just don't cut the mustard compared to other options these days.

Really enjoyed this demo... my second time here 🙂 Quick question: do you gain stage to -18db for the buster?

Just curious—how was the signal getting any gain reduction on the Buster if the threshold was positive? I’m a newbie, but I thought threshold was always below 0dB. Thanks in advance :)

Is it okay to use instead of Ableton's Glue Compressor in EDM for example?

The meter on the BusterSE in not accurate it shows double the gain reduction than it's actually doing.
