Absolutely strange...there cars are one of the nicest cars ever made in my opinion and in the us they´re well equipped...here im germany ( where it was born ! :D ) you´ll never find a car like this one...absolutely amazing. I would buy it right of and ship it back to germany.... keep it well and have in mind that there aren´t many out there so to keep its legacy alive have it original and restore it properly so it will put a smile on your face through the next years :-)

Nice find. That’ll be worth something being the MSport. Desirable color combo. Love the 5 series from around that time frame. As an owner of 3 older models (all 6speed) 91 850i, 97 540isport, and 2000 M5. They are very addictive and rewarding to drive. ( when properly sorted) plenty of DIY info online and parts are reasonably cheap. Although I do see prices rising and availability decreasing on some parts being that they’re classics now

Nice work and welcome to the MSport group! There’s going to be a lot going on here, lol. But glad you’re having fun with it already 👍

I also have a Hellrot car, a 6 speed that has the MHurricane from a Canadian M540 swapped into it, along with all the other M540 specific parts. These are fantastic when dialed in!

Just so you know, the “p” vs “S” on the EDC is for “programme” which just means normal. Are your EDC shocks all still there? Many of these have them replaced with standard struts and springs because it’s cheaper than getting these expensive Boge units rebuilt in Poland. But be sure to save them no matter what! It’s very likely they’ll be leaky after sitting so long, and the rear nitrogen accumulators for the SLS probably are leaking too..

Enjoy cleaning and get that leather all nourished with some moisturizer, that and cleaning the engine bay and treating all the plastic covers and bits (303, lots of it!) is a great way to get to know your car inside and out and to get motivated, for sure! 👍

You can hit all your black plastic trim with “Solution Finish” too, great to being back headlight surrounds and black trim.

It should be a crime to let a car of this stature sit around for almost 15 years...unbelievable. If someone can't fix it, SELL it. Ugh.
