Why I Sold My Porsche 911 After 30 Days of Ownership

Selling cars is always a bittersweet experience. This cannot be more true when you're talking about one of the coolest production cars ever made. The Porsche 911 is, without a doubt, the funnest car that I have ever driven. To be specific, it's all about how engaged the 911 connects with the driver. Obviously there are faster, more expensive cars out there but the 911 represents something special. It's iconic. It's timeless. Disagree? Perhaps you haven't driven one? When I was a kid I had a go kart that must have weighed under 100 pounds. I always wanted to take an engine from a sport bike, perhaps an R1 or a GSXR1000, and mount it on the go kart. If we share this dream-build, disregard that project a go buy a 911. It's likely a similar experience!

Reasons why I sold this car:

1. This is a YouTube channel about buying, fixing, riding/driving, and selling projects.
2. I completed this car only to find a new issue under the engine bay that needs addressing.I already have a new project on the way. No room for 2 projects in the shop!
3. The chase for new projects is addicting! Ask Tiger Woods.

I remember seeing this 996 on eBay.
Really great that you were honest about the problem but I was amazed that someone would spend over 18K for a 996 with a possible cracked head.
It’s too bad you didn’t have time to enjoy this car more since the 996 is arguably the best bang for the buck sports car available.

If you can profit, then sell it on. I own a 996 and at the end of the day - its just a car. A nice car, but still just a car. I am an owner, not a fanboy.

Can't believe anyone would pay that much for a 996 roller, suffered the same fait after paying 12k for mine, only drove 150 miles when I discovered the problem, pretty sure the seller was aware of problem but no way to prove that, found a used motor with 44k for 8k, car back on the road

A month ago, I bought mine for $13k only because the retired couple was trying to move out of California state and couldn’t hold on to a 4th car. They initially tried selling it for 18k but I got lucky 🍀 and they were in a rush to move & sale.

not a 911..diff model ..and the rear panrls are made to be removed for access on these models...stand back and look..that is if you actually knoe what your doing
