All the people who are arguing that Apple pie originates in America should do some research. Yes "The McDonalds Apple pie" is American, but the first apple pie was baked in England in 1390, pilgrims hadn't even set foot on American soil.

Growing up, I used to love these apple pies. Mcdonald's served them as hot as the surface of planet Mercury. Wouldn't eat it any other way!

our apple pies often have some spices in such as cinnamon and nutmeg but some just like sweetened apples, they are baked in a round pie tin and usually have more of a ''bite'' to them with the apples being cut larger and less like jam. the pastry we use is often a sweet short crust and is crumbly but some use puff pastry on the top. its a beautiful dish when done correctly. also, i love hot custard on my apple pie in the winter and ice cream in the summer.
