I wish they could have left him uncensored. It’s great to see someone truly upset about something even though it has passed from the news cycle. A man of conviction, right there.

I wish his HBO show "Newsroom" had lasted more than 3 seasons. He was fantastic in it. I loved that show.

How can this guy be in both "dumb and dumber" and "the newsroom". And now "to kill a mockingbird"?

I honestly don’t know if Jeff Daniels went into The Newsroom already being Will MacAvoy, but he definitely left with it. It’s great to see people talk with passion and conviction, and this is it.

If my dad were ever on a TV show... this is exactly how he would dress.

I really love when Stephen lets the guest have the last word in situations like this. Jeff knows what he wants to say and Colbert sits back and lets him say it because it's what's needed. Shakes his hand and thanks him for his time. The respect is super palpable.

1) "...I don't know enough to run for office...", he says.
2) Proceeds to show us that he knows a lot more than some others who have jobs in Government!

All you need to be a good politician is to be a decent human being!
Which is something that some people who work in the White House are just not capable of. (Yes, we are looking at you, Stephen Miller.)

#JeffDaniels is one of the most underrated actors of the last 20 yrs. And its clearly obvious he has more knowledge about Congress than the ones who have been voted in.

He sure ain't no dummy. Articulate and passionate. Already thought he was good but my opinion of him just went up a few more notches.

The irony of censoring someone speaking out for people who have no voice.

Being from Michigan, this is exactly how the state feels.

He's absolutely right. Maybe one of the few actors who hasn't lost touch after living in the bubble.

Its amazing isn't it, Jeff says that he would never run because he doesn't know enough, and yet he obviously far more knowledgeable and intelligent than most politicians, especially the President.

The more I see of Jeff Daniels the more I understand how shocking it was when Jim Carrey chose him as his co-star in Dumb & Dumber

To this day, I believe The News Room is one of the best if not the best show on TV. Ever!!!
