Here’s a thought (and please bear with us): how likely is it that Elvis Presley would have changed music and popular culture forever had he come up playing to working men’s clubs in a small town on the outskirts of Glasgow? Likewise, would John “Wizard of Wishaw” Higgins have won four snooker world championships had he spent his formative years perfecting his cueing in a Mississippi trailer park?

Our point is, the nature of a local legend has a lot to do with where you’re at – and this board is no different. It was designed with the tightly-packed trees and grisly terrain typical of the B’s home state of Vermont. If that sounds not unlike your own patch, your saviour has arrived.

Have this exact setup but in a 2023 Jake Blue. HTH 152, Photon Step Ons, and Genesis Step Ons. Unbelievable how awesome it feels to be ready to cruise right off the chair and not have to buckle in. More importantly, after 2 runs I found myself pushing the board seeing what it can take and the confidence I had in it hitting groomers on an icy day was solid. I ride with a narrow stance and it felt great. Happy I got this setup and feel good about it.

I am wondering if the hometown hero is a board for me. But most of the reviews say that it’s advanced or even just for experts. So I am worrying if it’s the right choice. When would you recommend the hometown hero?

I scarred up my K2 87 enough to relegate it to the Spring Board category in my Quiver. I have a Burton 3D Fish for Big Pow and I’m buying a 156 Wide Hometown Hero to replace the 87. I can’t wait for next year when I get my new Genesis Step On Bindings to go on these boards. I’ll be 68 next year and the Step On system makes it so easy on my Back.

How would you suggest choosing between the Hometown Hero and the Flight Attendant? I know that the Flight Attendant is intended to be ridden a couple centimeters longer… It seems like they’re both made for the same purpose. I currently ride a 158 Custom (which I love) but I am looking for some more free-ride oriented that will still be good for riding on the east coast. I bought a 158 Skeleton Key last year; I like it for riding powder but I don’t trust it at high speeds on groomers like I trust my Custom…

Great video - I'm a long time Flight Attendant rider (since it came out) and was thinking of trying this one out this season. Would you recommend it? How is it different - is it less stiff?
