I don't know how the "first crush" was done, but the number/TODAY reveal was easy. It did not matter what numbers were put in, or what was done to them, as long as no one was double-checking at the same time. Notice that they used HIS phone, HE called up the "calculator" app, and he was firm on not hitting "equals" until he said so. Any reveal like that is always predetermined to be placed in the envelope.
This is so easy, it doesn't even take a special app. You can just use the iPhone calculator, you just have to set it up where hitting equals results in the predetermined number before you close the calculator app, and you can re-open it like he did for Hoda.
