The lead singer Russ Ballard, who wrote this, also penned "New York Groove" which was a hit for Ace Frehly (KISS). Argent had a couple of other hits: "Hold Your Head Up" and "Liar".
The band is named for the keyboardist Rod Argent who's also of The Zombies.✌

I grew up listening to Petra's versions (they did it once in '78 and again in '84) but didn't hear the original until I was in my 20's. The dynamics of the original are much better ! Love some Argent !!!!
