I have no experience with Crucial, but OWC products seem to be just fine!

@ryguy10195 No, I did a full Time machine backup with the old drive when it was my primary disk. I clean installed OS X on it, and in the setup options, I just told it to use Time Machine and put all my stuff back on it. I kinda did the same with the SSD, but restored less of the old fragmented system files.

@ryguy10195 I used the Disk Utility to take the files off the DVD and put them on the formatted Flash Drive.

iPhoto and iTunes are still a bit slow just because their massive libraries are still stored on the HDD. It would be instantaneous if it was all on the SSD. I'm gonna buy this now. Looks amazing!

@thebluecollargeek Yeah there was no difference with the HDD results. I think 60GB is plenty for the OS and Apps, and the 750GB would be great for media and docs!

At the moment I got a 120GB SSD in my self builded desktop computer with a 1TB HDD. I think I'm gonna upgrade to a 250GB and put the 120GB in my ASUS Laptop with a 500GB HDD at the moment, a good upgrade for both, don't you think? :D

another question did you clean install the old hard drive that is now in the data doubler before you put it in? and once you installed the os off the thumb drive how did you only get the applications on the ssd and the files on the old hdd, i nkow from time machine but how? thanks

I was thinking bout getting the 2011 baseline iMac this year but since I can't get it before august, I was thinking about just waiting for next year's redesigned MBP and upgrade to an SSD with the data doubler. What do you think?
