Vegeta: "I want newbies to stop thinking I'm that clown!"

Glad vegeta took a different path to power rather than following the exact forms as kakarrot

For the first time in DB history we finally see Vegeta go on his own path to power instead of chasing Goku's leftovers. Ultra Ego suits Vegeta's Saiyan nature perfectly 💯

The only reason Goku got Ultra Instinct was because he absorbed that Angel Ki when he bit Whis. 😂

This answer is a VERY simplified explanation that leaves out ALOT such as :

1) Their personality traits, that is Vegeta being more reserved and constrained when it comes to his emotions and relationships, and as a result he has less of an affect on the people around him, which results in a 'darker nature'. Goku is the complete opposite, he naturally has more of an affect on his enemies and friends due to his 'bright and positive' nature. However, they both have a hint of each other's main personality traits to make their character s 'whole'. This concept is based off of Yin and Yang, or what everyone commonly refers to as 'Balance.'

2) Like I touched on above, they literally need to be opposites in order to reach their full potential. Meaning that both will eventually master their 'Paths to Power', but to do so they will both incorporate ideas and possibly skills from each other's style/approach to fighting.

3) The shape of 'The Super Saiyan God' that would give Beerus a "good fight" in Oracle Fish's Prophecy was shaped more like Vegeta than Goku, and when both if them 'unlocked' Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, Whis stated that was the 1st step in a long road to True divine Power, since then Goku has acquired his version of The Angelic skill known as Ultra Instinct, and Vegeta has tapped into The Power of a God of Destruction (Ultra Ego).

Ultra Ego definitely suits Vegeta more since his mindset is more in line with that of a God of Destruction while Goku’s mindset is more in line in the Angels which is why he was more suited for learning Ultra Instinct it definitely is better this way honestly.

I kind of love how in a way the evolution of Goku and Vegeta as martial artists wasn't about them totally eliminating or "solving" the problematic parts of their fighting styles that Whis pointed out to them. Whis said that Goku's issue was that he let his guard down too much and Vegeta's problem was that he was too tense all the time. In a different story the solution to those issues would be to have Goku learn to have his guard up a lot more often and Vegeta needed to loosen up, but instead they leaned into their inherent fighting styles and evolved to turn the weaknesses into another tool in their arsenal. Now instead of needing to be more actively alert, Goku gets even more free and loose and that lets him dodge better, and instead of trying to loosen up Vegeta tightens up even harder and turns his stiffness into extra power.

So in other words

Goku - lethal peace
Vegeta - destructive menace

I thought he didn’t learn it because of how he was done following Goku and wanted to get stronger his own way

I really like the current direction where all of the main characters are getting unique abilities (Orange Piccolo and Beast Gohan are so cool). Trying to shove Vegeta into a position where hed learn UI would be so reductive of his character.

I wonder if Gogeta/Vegito will splice both move sets (Goku's half of the brain will enter the UI flow state and the Vegeta half will go UE rage mode), or if it'll have a unique transformation because both forms have apposing moves.

This was good writing. I’m glad vegeta didn’t get ui. It makes sense to get what fits him

He didn't want to. Which is extremely in character for him.

I liked how in the anime during the TOP, Vegeta actually tries to attain Ultra instinct and free his mind, but then he quickly realized that Ultra instinct was not for him

It's similar to Mugen and Jin from Champloo. Both use a sword but each have their own preferred way to wield and utilize them. Jin is a samurai and Mugen prefers freestyle. Hence the title of the anime, it's both of their fighting styles

If only they would then make Vegeta combine this UE, mastered or not, with Forced Spirit Fission.... Everytime he got punched by the opponent, his strength and speed will raise. At the same time, as he punched his opponent, they would get weaker every time. With this, he would absolutely be a dominant fighter except when facing MUI/MTUI. I dunno about Black Frieza, but should he play strategically, even Black Frieza would easily be defeated like this, in a slow but sure way.

UE might only be making Vegeta to think solely about destruction, but FSF is a neutral technique. And philosophically, and psychologically, it would help Vegeta to destroy the opponent's pride or even their superiority. So it is one technique to help destroying both physically and mentally.
