These extensions actually are much smoother when your using proper 3d acceleration with a GPU too.

I feel like Gnome is getting better with each release and I'm excited about what System76 is doing with the Cosmic DE. Gnome and similar DEs really shine on laptops. The touchpad gestures, etc really make your laptop more powerful IMHO.

These will go great with my extensive RGB lighting on my hardware! I will use all of those effects at the same time, invite my friends over, and show them my rig, while watching them recoil in annoyed disgust. 👌

Its funny, for the entire time I've been using Linux (about 9 years now) I've regarded Gnome as trash, but I tried Gnome 44 and honestly, its pretty alright in my book. Still not quite whats ideal in my book, but its not half bad.

I always thought the cube was a great extension, and burn my windows looks cool, but I never could figure out the appeal of wobbly windows.

I never understood why they took off all the Compiz effects, they were actually the reason I even got into Linux... I got most of the fun effects back, but the one that's been brought back very limited and lacking is the Cube Desktop Effect... and I miss the Fireworks OpenGL screensaver... that's the best i've ever seen!
