Tejas and AMCA are our only priority. Rest all are meant to fade within a decade or two.

Same people who were worshipping rafale 2-3 yrs back are now calling it outdated.

हमारा Tejas mk2 Dasault Rafale से ज्यादा Advance होने वाला है।
और सबसे बड़ी बात अपना Indigenous Aircraft है तो time to time upgrade किया ही जाएगा, साथ ही War जैसे समय में जितना चाहें उतना production कर सकते हैं।

LOVE TEJAS ❤

अगर MRFA 2 साल पहले sign कर लिया जाता तो अच्छा होता लेकिन अब Dasault की production line पहले से busy है।

I think warfare is changing. Aircrafts today are unable to provide air superiority. Look at Ukrainian-Russia or Iran-Isreal, no aircraft’s are being used. Instead, the whole focus has shifted to overwhelming the defences with cheap missiles and drones. Once that’s done, aircrafts can be useful but achieving that stage can take more than a year and war has once again become longer.
India, Pakistan or even china don’t want long wars so I think best is to stick with Tejas and invest in cheap drones, missiles and defence systems.

The point is Mig21 has been outdated decades ago...
If India delays all their defence projects be it Foreign or Indian weapons, this will be the issue.
Eventually, Tejas MK1 will be outaded and also Tejas MK2 and AMCa..
These weapons will be outdated even before they are available to India.

We as Indians complex things too much. Neither our Tejas is ready nor MRFA

Indian Navy rafale price after Uttam and mission computer-50k Cr approx.
Price after ditching Indian upgrade- 29k Cr.
So anyone can understand what France going to demand in Rafale upgrade.

Its tricky situation for IAF, and our neighbours waiting to overcome us. But no option much, go ahead with Tejus, mk1, mk2, amca. Put more effort, increase private participation more, and increase production capacity.

Yaar if india will buy Rafael under MRFA then they will setup a new production line in India for 114 aircrafts. They will manufacture around 12-18 aircrafts per year in india. The technology can be implemented in the later versions of Rafael. While the older Rafael can be upgraded later. This can be put into contract while signing.

This will help in maintaining spare and supports for existing 36 Rafael of Airforce and 26 Rafael of Navy.

Remember Battle of Britain? German fighter planes were far superior than the British planes. So, the Germans used to come to Britain, air-strike their targets and when they started to return, the British air force used to target them since German planes were low in fuel by then. This is the same tactic used against fifth generation stealth fighter. Suppose USA uses a 100 million dollar F35 and a 5 million dollar missile to strike a 100 dollar tent. When it goes back, it will be hit by a 100 thousand dollar surface to air missile. Even before air strike, a plane can be easily detected no matter how much stealthy it is because the engines are exposed. And the radars can be set randomly and strategically which is impossible to find if properly camouflaged. Unless you can somehow manipulate gravity, this issue won't be solved. In short, nothing is outdated and it doesn't matter what is used. What matters is how it is used. If one side uses cheap dumb bombs like dumb bombs and other side uses expensive smart missiles like dumb bombs, it is obvious which side will run out of money first and when you run out of money, you lose. This is the age of situational awareness. So what difference does it make if a Python 5 is launched from an F22 or a MIG21? Your built-in radars and radar signature reducing equipment won't work if you go solo. If you go with proper preparation with all the necessary data, your built-in system is hardly necessary.

This makes *ORCA project* a true option against MMRCA 2.0

It's more about how fast and efficiently we can coverup the loss of the fighters in a war compared to number of fighters. Along with this, the fighter should also be upto-date and not outdated. Indigenous fighters are the only options that can satisfy our needs.
