How to Clean Up in the Art Classroom

This video can help teach your students how to clean their art equipment properly so that you are not left cleaning up your art classroom at the end of every lesson.

I created this video to help with my classroom management, by giving pupils a really clear view of the process of cleaning their painting equipment they can build their independence and responsibility for cleaning up after themselves rapidly. This straightforward clean-up routine is easy to adapt to your own style of classroom management as I focus primarily on the technical 'how to' of cleaning equipment rather than how I organise my classroom, materials and pupils. I encourage you to reuse this video frequently throughout the year to model, reteach and reinforce your expectations for art room clean up.
