so if im doing a research about parasites, and I have to use primary sources, can i use articles? are those primary? wouldn't an encyclopedia be a primary and not a secondary

In sociology primary sources are all the information a researcher himself (interviews, observations, etc), and secondary sources are published data like articles and books.
