I never saw sephiroth become serious from his fights also from previous fights with zack, genesis, angeal and up to cloud

It may be just me, but I preferred the censored version, not for any other reason than that it simply seemed to do more with less. Zack's flashback was nice, but the tempo and energy of that final engagement felt more sapped and unbelievable, especially with what comes after Sephiroth is defeated again. 10/10 would recommend watching Loz and Yazoo vs Cloud in the biker tunnel instead.
