Personal experience- you can spin however you want, since the defender won't expect you to spin that's the point of spinning, however the more your opponent recognizes your move, you have to try more tricky moves with your spin otherwise they can predict if you're gonna spin.

Tips keep your foot together no to close just like when your standing straight and don't lean only use your legs to spin and keep your ball close remember don, t let your ball lose remember in a game always watch out
