The difference between when Wilson hits people and when Reaves hits people is that Wilson aims for the head, uses his elbows, and tries to be dirty. Reaves was late, sure, but totally clean other than being late.

So here's my take on the hit:
I'll just start off by saying personally, I thought it was clean. No elbow, no head contact, all shoulder on shoulder. I don't really believe it was a "blindside" hit either, because if you look at 1:47 Wilson plays the puck and sees Reaves. He then looks away, thinking Reaves won't hit him, because it would obviously be a late hit. The problem is Reaves did hit him. So really the only thing wrong with the hit is that it's a little late.
Wilson has made these types of hits before, and did so literally just a few games ago in New Jersey against Brett Seney. I firmly believe you need to keep your head up, and BE AWARE of who's on the ice, especially guys like Wilson and Reaves. But hey, hockey has gone soft, so why not suspend Reaves for a game or 2 for god knows what.
