Great. A detailed and specific lesson, but very clear. Recently bought an electric upright, having played electric bass for years. The right hand technique and keeping the thumb positioned downwards is a bit challenging, but you show why this is important. Thanks

Serena, just recently stumbled upon your double bass tutorials and I absolutely love them. I've been playing double bass for about a year and a half after years of playing electric (with a pick nonetheless) and have had to overcome a lot of obstacles I did not know would be in my way (LIKE BLISTERS!!!). One thing I'm eager to learn is how to produce a nice galloping rhythm (where each beat is composed an eighth note followed by two percussive sixteenth notes) found in a lot of rockabilly. Is there a method for the right hand that is similar to a drummer's heel-toe technique on the kick drum? Look forward to seeing more videos and hope Bamboozle will be able to play in the US in the (understandably not-so-near) future.
