A lot of theology is available on the website, including a number of books available for free downloading. Don't forget to sign up for the free weekly email as well, Wednesday What-Not. That's also available somewhere on the website.

Ok, as a guy who keeps hearing Prescriptive vs Descriptive in the Dungeons and Dragon alignment debate. This is super helpful on learning things about the Bible and just what words mean. I know some Anabaptists practice Footwashing and some penetcostals as well so I like this video helping on how they see things. I am a recently baptized Lutheran for context.

Very timely! Thank you! There a lot of churches out there with uneducated ministers who preach personal opinion and not the Bible. You would not believe what comes from the pulpit at times.

Is Table Talk Radio no more? Haven't seen a new episode since May 2022. I love Table Talk Radio. Thank you Pastor Wolfmueller.

I wondered about this.
By the way i finished your book this week, "Has American Christianity Failed?". It is a really good book and I saw so many area's that i have been affected. Two statements made the most impact to me, one was "Christ receives you". Three words in context can change your outlook! Thank you!

Is that how you would read 1 Timothy 5:10 concerning widows? “Those who have washed the saints feet”

I don’t participate in foot washing. I know it’s mentioned in the Bible and allowed to be a remembrance of Jesus’s work; however, I have webbed feet and will become a distraction to the congregation should I participate in the ritual.

There is no forgiveness of sins in washing someone's feet.

No wanting to argue, but asking an honest question because I have been to churches that view it as a sacrament and have foot washing services.

John 13:12-15 "When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord, ’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you."

Jesus tells them that they should wash one another's feet and that they should follow the example that Jesus did for them. I know when watching other videos, the view of Communion is that Jesus meant what he said and the text is what the text says. Why don't Lutherans view it this way as well and consider it a sacrament?

A sacramental, aka a promised channel of grace, here, for example, in a liturgical or para-liturgical act of devotion, praying the Our Father, attending to the divine purpose of an act, and receiving a prayerful blessing at meals, et al. Not a Sacrament, those seven divine pledges of the Lord to act in power according to His own word as given to the Church (and established to be part of our way of life, in Him); nor is it a natural or revelatory sacrament (the mystery of a pledge), the Ark, the Rainbow, the Shadow of the Cloud, the still of a passing breeze, each prompting a due recognition of its significance in a given context.
Keep the Faith; tell the truth, shame the devil, and let the demons shriek.
God bless. ;o)

Have you ever thought of the foot washing as the water of their baptism? I don't see any other place in scripture where Jesus 'waters' the disciples. They get the Spirit at Pentecost to finish it off. The longest baptism of 53 days? Additionally, Jesus requires that they do this or they have no part with them. And a little water is all that is needed. Finally, Jesus (YHWH) does this to us - just like in baptism.

Sorry, I'm not washing anyone's feet. That's gross.

There are plenty of people who want confirmation of whatever biblical instructions they follow or excuses for the instructions they fail to follow. I personally don't subscribe to the doctrine that God's grace is received through anything we do or that a priest or pastor does for us.
