your insecurities about looking ordinary totally resonated with me! i often look in the mirror and just think how i’m not exceptionally beautiful. when i have these thoughts it’s either going down a spiral of bad thoughts and being extremely self-conscious for weeks or just accepting that i don’t look like the stunning people on social media and that being totally fine because i’m still a kind person, which counts so much more to me.
that said i think we generally have the most critical/judgemental view of ourselves because everyone was completely delighted when you dyed your hair brown again but you saw it as something slightly negative (i don’t want to presume anything). i just think it’s important not to be so hard on yourself. it’s a difficult road to self-acceptance in today’s society but only you can change your perception of yourself.

I love that you want to make Ireland your home. There’s so much pressure when you leave uni to move far away, in London in my case, but I’ve realised I really don’t want that. I loved my university city which is where I currently work (used to live there as a student) and I commute from my parents’ house in the countryside only about 30 miles away, and I want to make that city my professional home, and maybe my actual home when I can afford to buy a place of my own. Until then, I love my quiet life in the English countryside and enjoying the city buzz for work 😌

You’re very in tune with yourself for someone so young. I will never be okay with, or accepting of my natural self. Nature wasn’t very good to me, it played a bit of a joke on me but I have accepted I can’t change that. What I haven’t accepted is that it’s me and I’ve been dealt this hand so I relate to what you’re saying. I wouldn’t describe you as ordinary personally but you have a self awareness I crave. Just know, there are those that pine for your “ordinary” because there’s such beauty in that. ❤
