As an American, it sad to see Greek and Turk continue to argue other everything. Remember, you are both part of NATO.
Also as an American, it makes me mad to see the USA sell 1100 of our outstanding M1117 vehicles to anyone, much less at a steep discount. I am sure we will regret it. Not only will it cost us money, the loss of these vehicles will cost US blood.

It is like buying a inkjet printer, initial cost is very less, but it will cost you on ink. This is US way. If these vehicles were really capable, US would be using them by themselves. US has huge pile of this kinds of junkyard which are given its satellite countries. US gains on maintance, traning etc and making the satellite countries are dependent of US. It is a way of controlling a satellite country. Greece buying them for Turkey. Turkey is producing them themselves, improving its economy but also sells them. The maintenance of these vehicles will be burden for Greece. Turkey was definitely a satellite state, but the problems with US and Turkey, in my opinion proves them they are not at least for last 10 years of so. It is not feasible to produce everything. Vehicles may not seems so critical. But in my opinion, vehicle production is the start of a defense industry.
