You can make 50k a year being a manager at Chick-fil-A. My uncle is an electrician in the coal mines and makes over 100k a year, in WEST VIRGINIA. That is stupid money in WV.

He is making $30 per hour which adds up to more than 50K. 30 per hour takes home about $1500 per week. Per year = approx $70 to $100k. with overtime.

Bro imma be making that senior year of highschool. Currently a junior and am taking an electrical course and 2nd half of my senior year ill be able to work during the 4hrs for that class. I’ll only have one regular high school class to take because I was on the grind freshman and sophomore year before I left my original highschool. So ill take one class in the morning then work the rest of the day. Ill also only have 3 years of apprenticeship and can be a journeyman at 21.

$30hr x 2080 hrs is actually $62, 400 annually. Probably $50 after taxes

Pulling wire is pulling wire. Literally what it is you pull wire from point a to point b. Its kinda like plumbing you have piping that comes in and connects where it needs to be. In electrical and data you have wires and instead of laying pipe you pull wire unless your a dope industrail spark and you lay conduit which is pipe rated for electrical wiring and then pull wire through that "pipe"

Unfortunately in Canada, injured workers are abandoned by WCB.. Don’t ever allow yourself to be injured at work! Never allow your income to be based on your ability to perform backbreaking labour. WCB will deny your injury claims and return you to work without recovery. Which is why I abandoned my career as a red seal journeyman plumber and journeyman class b gasfitter. I am now a 39 year old university student. Stay in school kids!
Never believe the propaganda of skilled trades being good jobs!! Skilled trades workers have no rights and they are exploited by their employers. I will always regret working as a plumber in Alberta Canada. Construction workers are not even entitled to employment standards like severance pay and notice of termination, no wonder nobody wants these horrible short-term jobs anymore 😂😂😂😂

An electrician has to make more than 50k a year there’s no way they gotta make at least 110k

I dont know where this is located but i can assure most journeyman/4 yr electricians make about 55-60 $$ an hr. Im a union laborer in philadelphia & we make 36 a hr. Journeyman carpenters 51, journeymen plumbers 60.

30 an hour for an apprentice?? In the UK it's literally less than minimum wage like £7 an hour

This guy can't do math. 30 an hour in a year is between 60k to 65k a year. in addition, journeymen can make between 35 and 45 per hour.

Getting signed up as an apprentice at 17 means this guy is a nepo baby. For regular people your experience in the trade will be VERY different

Oh come on, man. Take your hands out of your pockets, stand proud, and speak thoughtfully. Not all electricians are as modest as this guy. First introduced yourself: who you are what trade are you and what level of education completed, when, where, and why
Pick 3 things to talk about: residential commercial, and industrial for example.
Don’t talk about money unless that is the point of the presentation. If anything I would talk about how Journeyman treat their apprentices like competitors, and set their trainees up for failure. Maybe talk about how unsafe the job is, and how little training workers receive. maybe talk about the glass hammer and the fools errands. Maybe give some examples and some anecdotes. lol

50 K a year to go to school for five years is definitely not worth it.

Industrial electricians make WAY more than this. I may or may not have made 110k in 2023 😅
