Favorite bit: “We are becoming alienated from how the human brain operates. The human brain requires time.”

Reading Mastery reminded me of Kobe Bryant. Be a student of the game, work on your craft and hone your skills. If you don't know what your purpose is, then begin by improving yourself intellectually and physically. It will give you a sense of satisfaction.

I'm looking forward to reading it. I need to get through several books first, including " The 33 Strategies of War". Thank you for your wisdom and writing style.

I have talked to younger people in my family and what i have gathered up is that most kids these day not all are spoon fed . Alot of them are actually dealing with a different type of suffering our parents or grandparents or if your about 30 -40 what we potentially have experienced to become successful. This is a new age alot of kids growing now are reaping the benfits of what our past generation put in. There suffering has to do with inadequacy. They dont know the time it take to get great at a skill. They play video games these days where you can pay money to upgrade your character instead beating a whole story mode. Everything is fast which doesnt allow them to build very meaningful life developmental skills . Some of these kids are also real smart, but if you ask them to put what they said to action they cant . Its a really intresting time these days . You kinda start asking yourself is being successful really the goal if the generation your leaving with it doesnt understand its value .ive been thinking sometimes you have to go outside your family tree to make sure your riches grow. Because theres some other kid in a different family who doesnt have opportunites and looking for one and has that same hunger as you.

I think most people find work to be bullshit. Part of the reason why is because we're exposed to so many rich and famous people through social media and it's discouraging and disheartening. Comparing ourselves to others causes us to feel like failures- and then life becomes about making ourselves feel better about our situations. They just want to feel good and popular. Success is 50% hard work and 50% luck. And luck isn't something you can control, so....

“Smart People Should Build Things” by Andrew Yang makes a similar argument. Never read it, but heard Andrew give a brief synopsis on it, and that was his argument. We need more smart people building things, not just hustling in banks or on Wall Street.

Very well said things in life that take time and effort can sometimes be the most rewarding. And not everything in life occurs or arrives quickly w 0 effort required

❤. The good strong foundation is important. What we have right now caters to the quick fix technology. Our young people most growing up in fatherless homes are struggling to cope with the stress out there and they’re not equipped to make it.

As a builder, welder and fabricator. You dont know how horrible we are treated. Just a tool to throw away when our body breaks. Let them build on their own

That's so true, a perfect description of today's society. Most people are stuck in their comfort zone, because of the digitalized world.

"The human brain requires time" is true, another problem is fascination of the youth developing specified skills earlier in age, ruins development in essential skills when focused on just one

The world does not proportionally reward those that do the difficult work.
Engineering are incredibly complex, difficult majors that are woefully underpaid upon graduation.
It's much easier to be a finance / arts major and be a mediocre or incompetent middle manager. These positions often pay higher than the complex, technical engineering jobs.
So the world is rewarding mediocrity

Yes. Using time constructively can consolidate our identity and the most fulfilling of activities is our productivity or mastery.

Love this!! I feel like Mastery, beyond the trappings of books on Power and Seduction, was and IS my cup of tea. And is why I got it first as it was what drew me and aligned with my ideals, at least nobly. To empower my impulses, I won't say I'm above, but if I can prusue nobility, so much the better, when if I do eventually take on the Power and Seduction books. 📚 Thank you! 🎉 And heck, I'm sure I will then work with them in a smarter more enlightened way!
