Classic Austin Healey thrown to wild drifts at Goodwood

Richard Woolmer only knows how to drive cars on the absolute limit. And he did nothing different when he jumped into this Austin Healey 3000 during practice for the Stirling Moss Memorial Trophy at Goodwood Revival. The whole time the Healey was on its way round the track it was at some ludicrous angles.

Wow, one of the most beautiful and pure drifts I've seen to date, and in the rain.

It was like that, lap after lap. Most fun I've ever had as a spectator (though 4-wheel drfiting minis at Woodcote came a close second).
He did over-do it once, and went through the second half of Woodcote pretty much at 90 degrees to everyone else's racing line.

Nerves of steel. Also this has to be a very well set up car, because Healeys typically handle more like farm equipment compared to what you'd think a sports car should feel like.

Kudos also to the Aston Martin driver. It looks like they were getting similar drift angles at times (1:08).

Wonderful to watch. Brave isn't the word. It's more than that. Similar to racing on ice I would imagine. Real, precise car control in a proper car. The driver in the Aston isn't bad either. What a sight and contest.
