explainer: King Krista is a 1, 000 years old after using the Namekian dragon balls of universe 6 for immortality (take that Frieza), on top of the almost millennium of training he has, he is also the father of Kale. Her berserker/Broly-esque state comes from Krista's bloodline, so he too has not only the same form as her, but what we saw was likely a mastered version of it where he can keep control. Goku, for this fight, is arguably not even as put together as his ToP self because he is training his Destruction powers. He doesn't enter any SSJ state because he is trying to maintain control so his Energy of Destruction doesn't consume him (as we get a taste of in this video). While MUI is a force, it was only once or twice Krista was able to better Goku. Chalk it up to luck, Roshi's "version/theory" of UI, or even Goku losing control of his MUI due to his Energy of Destruction interfering. These are just my thoughts on it.

Goku: "Well, your universe lost in the tournament and got erased, and we had to bring it Ooof"

I can't wait to see how powerful Goku will become when he masters his god of destruction powers and uses them with ultra instinct. It would also be cool to see Vegeta become a god of destruction of universe 7 so he can rival Goku

I do like the idea of Caulifla leading a rebel group, in the Manga she's basically Robin Hood and gives food and water to orphans. I hope they bring that idea in the anime. It's really cute how she's tuff but has a soft spot for orphans and Kale.

Rei krista didn't go to the tournament of power to protect the planet Sadala, this explanation seems simple and silly, but it's totally within the standard of explanations that akira gave us throughout the Dragon Ball franchise... Android 17 didn't want to go to the tournament because he wanted to protect the island, android 18 didn't want to go because there would be no prize money... This explanation is more coherent than the explanation given for why Mr Popo and Kami sama didn't come down to earth to defeat Piccolo Daimaoh

I love this story, I just really hope we don’t get an evil Goku or an evil destroyer Goku. I really want to see him gain control over it after years and years, after Chi-Chi and all them pass and everything. Actually treat it as if he was a God and not just sour that awesomeness of Guku truly becoming the best Destroyer any universe has seen. That’s why Zeno picked him.

I have to say, Goku's already a better God of Destruction than a majority of the others, in that he's actually taking interest the state of U6. I know he's in the process of getting his bearings and learning more about the universe he has jurisdiction over, but I don't really see him stopping after that.

you know truth be told, kinda really hate how goku in every fight has to use ultra instinct to be an even match. i get that this king is powerful and immortal who has trained for 1000 years but vegeta also trains all the time and has to seek out additional training to further his power. i highly doubt that the king went up to the gods and asked to train due to how he doesn't know much about ultra instinct. its a great story, dont get me wrong but really dislike how he said ssj3 would be enough but gets beat at MUI. power scaling since POW has been out of hand

After mastering his Destruction powers along with Ultra Instinct he'll definitely be the strongest G.O.D there is. As for Vegeta, well we haven't seen any of his progress yet but we all know Vegeta doesn't like getting one uped by his rival so he's probably mastering his U.E under Beerus and he might even get a new form surpassing Beerus and taking the mantle of destroyer of U7.

"Why is the king so strong??"
He's immortal, having lived for 1000+ years and trained for most of that time. Combine that with his Ikari form and it makes a lot of sense, at least more sense than Jiren's strength.

"Why is MUI Goku so weak??"
He's only just started training with his new God of Destruction power, so he has to limit his power in order not to lose control and start recklessly destroying everything.

"Why did he not participate in the TOP?"
Well, the in-manga explanation is that he made a vow to never leave Sadala so he could protect it. If you want something more satisfactory, consider the following: The character was made after the Tournament of Power arc had been done for a few years. It would be pretty weird to insert a random character to replace one of the U6 fighters when the story of that arc has long since been established, and it would quite frankly be a waste of time to change it when the end result would've been the same.

In the past, Planet Sadala was attacked by an army from another planet, this army was so powerful that it almost completely decimated the Saiyans... But a little boy appeared, who even though he was a child managed to have enough power to decimate the enemy army, her name was KRISTA! With a desire to protect her planet, Krista asked the Dragon Balls to never age, and from there this boy trained and honed his power for 1, 000 YEARS! Several Centuries later, King Krista had a daughter named KALE (The legendary Super Saiyan). The Legendary Super Saiyan appears once every 1, 000 years, could it be that King Krista was the predecessor of his daughter? and because he was 1, 000 years old, was he able to fully perfect that power? That would already give him an advantage over the one we know by the name of BROLY. Imagine if Broly trained for 1, 000 years? how strong do you think he would be? Comment below.

So… the king could’ve solo’d Jiren? Is that what I’m seeing? Because, no. He couldn’t. Goku’s limit without losing control should be far past jiren given the time skip, his training, and his divinity. If someone that strong was an option, champa would have dragged him to the tournament kicking and screaming if he had to, and he definitely would have known given the amount of saiyans on his team.
