Reminds me of my dad who’s no longer with us. We used to watch this together when I was younger. He got me into movies and film - and the beautiful music that featured in them. Life has truly never felt the same since. Sometimes I come and listen to this just to remember him.

Before exhaling the last breath on the cross Spartacus can still catch a glimpse of Varinia, holding her son, away on the road..

Spartacus the leader of the slaves who rebelled against the Roman Emperor is dying on a cross after watching himself and his people being crucified. The love of his life manages to escape slavery after being a hostage of the Emperor, the Roman emperor who sentenced Spartacus to death and is in love with Spartacus’s wife. Just as she is about to flee Italy, She walks up to the cross with Hers and Spartacus’s baby in her arms, a son he has never met as he was born after the battle with the Romans - “This is your son, he’s free Spartacus, free . He’ll remember you Spartacus, because I’ll tell him, and I’ll tell them who his father was and what he dreamed of, Please die my love, don’t suffer this slow crucifixion any more, please die, please go. As she and their son are being helped in their escape by a good man turned rebel against Rome, Spartacus breathes his final breaths on Earth whilst watching his wife and son leave, disappearing into the sunset. Spartacus a man who died for his people and stood against tyranny and oppression, watches the love of his life and son vanish into the distance. His wife says as she looks back Goodbye my love, my life, Goodbye, goodbye…”
