If it takes you years to build a house, well, you've got other problems.

But think of all the well-paid jobs for skilled trades like carpenters, plumbers, bricklayers, etc., and all the economic activity and tax revenues they generate.

What would we do if we could do only prefab housing that goes up in days? And all the tradespeople lost their jobs as a result?

Not being snarky here, but the US and Canadian economies depend on deliberately created inefficiencies that keep the economy afloat and generate taxes.

There is no doubt, however, that prefab housing that could go up in days would go a long way towards solving the housing crisis.

In Canada, there was a huge housing crunch after the war ended. The government issued quick-build plans that would allow a typical wood-frame house to go up in three days to solve the crisis.

Hello America. This is how houses are built in Europe. The idea that you’d deliver a load of timber to a site & knock a house together is an anathema to us.

Pre fabricated houses, precision engineered in a factory & delivered to site in sections is the norm here.

Brilliant design but just as Apple, I am sure, they are going to cost you $300, 000. Plus, land cost, utilities, permitting, miscellaneous not sure if this is the answer for affordability.
