Thoughtful caching will improve the user experience and reduce infrastructure costs for any site, and Open edX uses it extensively. Despite this, Open edX developers who want to add caching to their Python code often don’t know where to start. What options are available, and how do they compare? How does testing work? What are common pitfalls?
