LOVE your Learned a lot I just drove my new 2025 mini CM home and have begun to use the voice command which seems to work fairly well. I would like to know if I need to connect my phone via bluetooth to use the mini system and can CarPlay and blue tooth of my phone be active in order to switch between the two. my prevous mini (2017 JCW 2D) did not not have CarPlay so it very new to me.. One thing I learned is if you toggle from D to L1 you are in sport mode

I went to my local mini dealership to have a look at this new infotainment system and the new cars and I think it's sad to see what the new cars look like. The regular cooper keeps around the same shape as the F56 version, but the countryman is enormous. This is not a mini, its a Also, the interior of these cars feel way cheaper than the previous one, it feels less refined. There's lots of hard plastics, even in places where you actually touch these, whereas in the F56, you had plastic but it felt a bit more premium. These cars interior don't feel like 30K$ cars. Also, remember how the F56 and even previous generations had an interior with a lot of personality. They had their quirks with the fighter jet toggles, the shape of the dash, the doors trim. In these cars it feels so plain and boring, they don't stand out as much as they used to. I like the new infotainment system, but it's very good because it's based on android, which has many years of existence and a way bigger user base than any car infotainment OS. I like the new safety features, the park assist, especially on the tank that's the countryman, but I think they could've done something better with the rest of this interior. It almost feels like all of the R&D budget went into making the ID9 software, and they gave minor ressources for everything else on that interior.

I am all over new tech, but I think MINI went overboard here. All of the functions on the car are on the touchscreen. When it was a knob or a toggle, you didn’t necessarily have to look to change something. With a touchscreen, you will have to take your eyes off the road to adjust a setting. And so much functionality is buried under further layers. I think a lot of the features are cool, but I think it is at the expense of driver safety.

Also, if MINi is committed to going all electric, why would they introduce a battery draining feature like massaging chairs at this point in their development cycle?? Weird.

Android auto will be replaced by google driving assist or something
