Disney needs to take accountability, too! Unlike Blake, Rachel did not change the script, or hijacked the movie. That was Disney’s decision to change from the original plot, cast an unlikable actress and use CGI instead of real people. I think this movie was bound to fail from the get-go.

Even if Rachel Zegler hadn’t said things that rubbed fans the wrong way, the movie still wouldn’t have done well. People are tired of soulless, thoughtless remakes and it was obvious from the trailer that the movie wasn’t going to be good. Plus they put a lot of actors with dwarfism out of jobs in favor of very creepy CGI. There wasn’t thought or care about actually adding to the story or approving the story like the Cinderella live action remake which flashed out the characters and romance. With or without Zegler’s controversies, the film was doomed to film.

Kjersti, Remember Gina Carano got fired from Disney w/her speech on Jan 6 rioters. Disney warned her about her tweets and they didn't hire her for Mandalorian season 3. Disney has been down this road before.

A couple things you didn't cover. 1) She spoke harshly about not liking the original movie and basically said she can't recall anything special about it and had no desire to view it now. 2) After having been told those words were going to hurt public the reception to it, she made a statement after the election saying she not only hopes Trump never knows peace in his life, but also the same for anyone who voted for him.

I’m sorry, her TONE of voice is not kind or considerate—she threw her co-star who played Jonathan completely under the bus when HE was the one who made her look good. No sympathy for this actor—she’s too full of herself and needs to be taken to task. She doesn’t speak as an artist should with curiosity—not interested anymore in supporting her career!

Not hiring actual, living, little people to act in the movie was the first big mistake Disney made. Everything that came after was just more nails for the coffin. But I think producers and directors will think twice before even considering her for a role in a movie.

This film was doomed before Rachel opened her mouth on the PR tour. So many bad decisions. Sad!!!
