Near Miss Of Runaway Bdouble Dual Wheels. Ballina NSW

Friday 13th of November 2015, I was driving north on the Pacific Highway 10km south of the Ballina by-pass freeway, smoke rose from an approaching southbound BDouble tanker. My wife noticed an object detach from the truck when it was 400-500 metres away. This object turned out to be a detached set of wheels from the tanker. I had no option but to stop and expect the worst, as there was no escape route between the guard rail and the tanker. Fortuitously the massive rogue wheel assembly diverted miraculously and passed on the drivers side of my car and in front of the questionably maintained and decelerating truck.
